Blog #5 for Eric Fowler.October 3-6th

           Oct 3th  Ukraine 2019

Time is flying fast every day ... MORNINGS come fast
and days goes faster.   We went to a Drug store got medicine  for MS lady Natila,  Had a great  visit with Natila and her mom.  Natalia is getting weaker and weaker.... we took her an MP3 player with Bible on it and some messages of the love of God and radio as well.  She was so happy to get one.
We picked up food for two families. Had little visit with Dema's mom and left the food package ...then took food package to Tanya and the two girls and the new Baby. ...
Did some time on the street with Dema giving out tracts and came home got ready for meeting. Rested little and my wife made Pumpkin soup and pumpkin Custard.
We then went to meeting and 18 was in..It was raining so that cut down on the number out. We came back to apartment and had tea ... full day ...for sure.

     Oct 4th   Ukraine 2019
Morning little warmer as some days are rain and wind. Got a call for help from the German regional hospital...We  thought at first it was the Lady who's son we had already helped, but when we got there it was Slivsana.... another lady, not the  one that was our interpreter we had one., but the one who is  Russian ladyIt       It was her friends, a couple who was to Portugal and the husband  caught  some kind of foreign bug. Medicine
was very expensive we helped with two lots which were a great to help,.
We went and got Eura's wife and took her to pick up food.   Had nice visit with her.
Picked up food for the discussion meeting tonight.  Dema and I was on the street for and hour giving out tracts again.
We came home and got ready to take Leanna and Marina her daughter out for supper.
It was again another full day ...tired in the evening.

          Oct 5th
           Ukraine 2019
We had a little later start on the day.   We went to  the Clothing room for some hours and opened and sorted clothing  to have boxes to take to Peter's village Monday morning.
We got some extra clothing for Ura's family and for him and his wife. Dema and I spent some time again on the street and gave out tracts. I love in the street and have some good talks ...also more and more foreign people here at university.
We went for something to eat. and got some extra money changed.  WE went to
village near airport ...and met Yaroslav and his son and his son's wife and her grandmother ...had visit with them.
We came home to rest early after a long week. God is Good and  gives strength along the way and help to speak the truth in each meeting and each visit.  WE will have to give account for what and how we teach.
Week is over and tomorrow starts a new week and  our last.

           Oct 6th
 Ukraine 2019
It was raining hard and woke us up early .... We will again stay in Ivano Franksisk.  Meeting was at 10am ..picked up some of the children as there is a children meeting after the ministry meeting in the morning.
We had a great crowd for a rainy day.  We had 30 of us and two new ones out.  It was great to see Yaroslav'
son Vatalie out ,in fact he was out tonight as well. I had the word of ministry and followed from last week ...
The local church and its formation.  Today was the  first place where Bethel was mentioned in the Bible and then something of THE PLACE in the book of Deut.   Then to Matt. ch. 16 and  ch 18 ... A called out people for the PLACE. Yaroslav had a nice word for the children ..
.A little coffee and a cake for one of Erie's children for it was their Birthday.  Home and rested and had little Pumpkin soup and eggs for dinner.   Still raining but we had 26 in tonight and that is good for the weather.
Went to Olex and  Olia's place for supper after meeting.  Nice visit but little disappointment not to have them to meeting ...they were in the morning and I was very thankful for that ...as they needed to hear the truth given in the morning.  One of there son... Sasha was there at the house for a short visit it was great to see him ...he was troubled at one time.
A new week begun and look to the Lord to guide, much in our mind for this week will see how the Lord Guides.

Blog #4 From Eric Fowler

  Sept 28th ...Ukraine trip 2019

We went to market and bought food packages for three families. We also bought liquid soap for hands and floor for hospital and  also got paper towels and window cleaner.
We then visited Tanya and  family and left food . While there her son told us how he got saved and asked if he could get baptized.
Then went to Bodonka's daughter and her family and had visit and left food. Then we went to Tanya's mom and brother and left food.
There is a terrible flue going around and some of those people had it.
We went and had a meal with Leanna and Marina her daughter.
The day is over and the week is over, great to rest and read some to have a good start tomorrow. The three visits with food was good visits, many more here to make.

Sept 29th      .....Ukraine trip of 2019

We were up little early to be ready for today.  The meeting here is at 10,a prayer and ministry and a time with the children. We had 21 at the meeting. mostly children. Uri the blind man and his wife and 5 children was there.
The Lord gave help but so few heard it.  Eurie spoke to the children and was good. We went and had dinner with Svetlana's parents after meeting.  Her dad got home Saturday ...he was in hospital for a heart attack...I brought medicine for him from Canada. Had nice time but no interest in Eternal things ...sad.
We then came home and rested for a short time and prepared for night meeting. We had 22 in meeting but many regulars still missing.  After meeting we went and had tea at Dana's home, she is the German lady that comes at times, she had her neighbour there that was out to meeting for the first time ever Thursday.
The Asian lady and daughter was to be there to who was out twice to meeting since we came but some  relative had accident.  The visit was little disappointing  but the Lord knows.   Leanna was out to meeting and was with us
         as well.
The work here demands much visiting person to person.
Home and it is late and for myself had trouble settling down
tired too much ....But Lord will help.

Blog #3 Sept 26th from Eric Fowler.

 Sept 26 .... Ukraine trip 2019

The weather is cooling down in night especially but warming up in the day.  Breakfast went well with my normal Manna and the peanut butter we brought from Canada and some maple syrup on the manna.   The days are going to fast  time is running away with us.  We went to the New Box room and picked out  the baby bags that was there for the  visit to Baby hospital tomorrow. We called and there are 21 new Babies. We got 27 bags ready. We brought some hand made bags with us that we filled from things from the boxes. The home made ones was made in Newfoundland.  We put New Testaments in each one and a text and a tract.
We had no children's story books, we need to purchased some from Lviv.
We went  to dinner and after gave out few tracts on the street. We went to the
market and got little soap and baby pampers for each bag.  We came home and
rested some and got ready for meeting tonight. The meeting went well with 22 out.  There are still so many of the regulars missing. I need   to do some calling as 12 or more of regular ones are missing. Leanna and Daughter came late but came and we took them out for pizza. Then home and now ready to rest.

Sept 27   Ukraine trip to Ukraine

Morning cool and cloudy .... breakfast was normal and great to be in the country to help.  There is development everywhere in buildings as many moving from the Russian occupation are rich, this is just making the prices of everything higher.  The Lord is over all. Saw many young soldiers where we ate yesterday.
We finished putting things in the baby bags as we are to go to the hospital at 12 . The trip to the hospital went very well, we gave out bags to 23 babies. We had some nice questions and moments from the mothers.  We had a great visit with the head nurse the the lady responsible in the birth or the babies. We had a few workers stop and say hello .  We then came home and rested some.  We then went to the regular meeting place and meet with 5 and answered questions.
We are now home and had a piece toast before going to bed.
Lots  to do reading and praying about what to do and getting ready for it.It is total pioneer work and having good printed material is important as well.
Value prayer of all and any wee e mail on your praying for us would be good.

Sept  23 ... Forth day on 2019 Ukraine trip.

Monday morning came to Early but we both sleep well.  Ruslyn came at 10:15        for us.   We went to the Market and bought food for the family we are to visit.
Ruslyn got a few things for his mom and took to her that gave us a little visit
with her.   She is gone totally blind and they have a lady that takes care of
her every day...   We left her a little funds to help with her care she needed.
It is nice to see her at meeting on Lord's day, she attends well even with
        her great health problems.
Then we drove to Stryi about an hour away. The family there is Michiel and Maria .. he is the Dr. we have often talked about and his family. We had a great visit for sure.  We ate before the visit as they never offer you any tea even thought you bring them food. We went over the Great I Am's of John's Gospel.  We are very confident in his salvation but not so sure of her. She remembers our first visit and said I spoke about John's gospel then and asked me if I love John's Gospel.
We also left them some medicine I brought and some extra funds as well. We prayed with them and the ride back.
We had a little rest then went for a walk about an hour on the street.  We did give out some literature but people refuse lots.
Back here at apartment and study for tomorrow meeting in Ivano.
Did some texting and the write up from today ...to keep in line with everything.  Dan will be here for us at 10am and Larry and Ruth Perkins will be with him they fly back to the USA tomorrow.

                 Sept.   24
We both didn't sleep real good but morning came ok  Breakfast and a little repacking as Dan will come for us to go to Ivano today.  He was here at 11:20 and we went to dinner with Larry and Ruth Perkins as hey are returning to America today.  Had a nice visit and delivered them to the Airport and saw them go.
We then had the 2 and 1/2  hour ride to Ivano. The traffic was heavy and that slowed us down some.  The day was beautiful and enjoyed the ride much.  It is truly great to see the country again.
We got here in time to unpack and have a 45 min. rest. Then off to meeting to the New place. It is great to have it and see it for the first time.  We had 25 out tonight and one new lady for the first time.  The Lord gave help to speak and one man came back after the meeting and wanted to know what it meant to be BORN AGAIN. He has been coming for some months and has shown a great interest.  His son wasn't with him tonight but has come some as well.   Leanna and her three friends was out tonight.
Now we are back to the apartment and almost ready for night rest. The weather
Gets cold very quickly in the night but nice each day, no snow yet ...praise God.

Eric Fowler September 2019 #1

Editors note.
So sorry for no blogs for a long time. some visitors do not write reports so I have nothing to write. Please enjoy Eric Fowler's letter.

Thanks for all your text, e-mails and telephone calls before leaving.
Friday was a calm day but full getting the last touches in place.
Mary our Daughter gave us ride to Airport.
The check in went very smooth as all bags was little under weight.
WE DID TAKE ONE EXTRA BAG but it getting to expensive to take extra....
every year the price goes up and up.
We went very smoothly through security and then the rest at the
gate.   Our heavenly Father gives peace ..... It's nice to know
one is returning after the last year operation and the changing of
our two trips ...one in 2018 and one in 2019.   Doors are opened and closed
by Our Gracious Heavenly Father who is Lord of the Great Harvest field.

              Sept 21 .... Poland

Then the flight to Warsaw Poland ...they announced it would be just 8 hours but when it was over ...they were longer, so a little more head wind than expected.
We had very smooth flight out over Labrador just North of home town  LANCE AU LOUP and safe in Warsaw.   Had 2 hour wait over and enjoyed leaving tracts around for people to read.  The flight to Lviv was just 45 min. and very smooth with a full plane.   Very sad no traffic on airport in Lviv with such a
nice new terminal built for the soccer games some years ago.
It went very smoothly through customs.   Ruslan was the only one who came to
pick us up ...we were little late 5:40 in the evening.
He took us to a supermarket and picked up some food for the  days we are to be in lviv before going to Ivano Frankisk.   We also exchanged some American funds
at the same time.   He then took us to our place of rest at George Washington street.  We went to rest early...my wife rested on Flight but I didn't much.

           Sept 22 ...Day three.

I rested very very well ..but my wife didn't.   Ruslan came for us at 10:30 for the worship meeting.   The meeting was very small...as no one was up from Ivano Franksisk.    Edmond and Agnes are away to Ireland for a visit.   There were 4 brothers missing from the area and one sister...so meeting was small. The meeting was still refreshing to remember the Lord and know that HE was in our presence.
Today was the day one year ago I had my operation and it so great to be back and doing so well in the short time.
I spoke a little word on the greatness of our GOD... his Power, Presence and Provision.
It was great to see two homeless men in the back and two children and a young lady who profess to be saved and we would love to see her in the meeting. Voladya had a word for the children.   A nice tea was served and the morning went quite well for a small crowd.  We came home and rested for an hour and then I took tracts and went for a hour and half walk in the street and enjoyed both the walk and the giving out of literature.
We are staying near to where Mrs. Kancir use to live when here and lots of tracts
was given in this area.   Now the day is almost over again for us and another rest and get use to the 7 hour time change.

VALUE the Prayer for all and give God thanks for all
kindness shown to us in the Lord's name.

Lviv Assembly Newsletter for November

LVIV NEWSLETTER – Edmund & Agnes November 2018
It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, and to sing praises unto thy name,
O most High.   Psalm 92 v 1
Greetings to all.
On Friday 24th August, Ukraine celebrated Independence Day 27 years on from
1991 when Ukraine broke free from the Communist regime of the USSR.  Some
say ”it was better then” under the old system when “everyone had something”.
Others say,” life is better now with more choices and an opportunity to have a little
more”.  Sadly corruption is ingrained in society from the government down to the
man on the street. We are so thankful for the many open doors for the Gospel of
God and the teaching of His infallible and unchanging Word.
Also in August we were invited to Birkii orphanage for 2 special Gospel meetings with
the children, staff and relations of the kids.  It was a joy to share the Gospel with the
grandparents, Aunts, Uncles of these orphan children along with the many staff
members of this large orphanage.  Although preaching and singing in temperatures
in excess of +30deg was a little difficult but rewarding, even with all the windows
wide open.
In September Gilles and Helene Plourde from Kapuskaping , Canada arrived in Lviv for
a 7 week visit  to help in the work and attend the assembly conference. Our brother
Gilles spoke many times in the assembly and at the different orphanages, and was a
great encouragement to us all.  We appreciated so much their help both practically
and spiritually.
Early in October, Malcolm Stanley and Howard Pratt arrived from Canada for a 4 week
visit to help in the work in Lviv and Ivano and also to minister the Word at the
assembly conference. With them and the Plourdes we enjoyed visits to Yosopovage
,Loupatin, a gypsy camp, homeless shelter and Carpathian mountains.
On the 8th October we commenced one week of Gospel and testimony meetings with
all the foreigners including, Dan and myself giving testimony to God’s saving Grace.
With the help of Daria (recently saved) she designed and printed invitation cards to
the meetings. We were delighted when some of our neighbors and friends of the
Christians attended and heard the Gospel.
Mid October we arranged a Saturday afternoon for tract distribution in the centre
of Lviv.  The weather was superb and the people were out in “droves”. Although like
always we had refusals, but praise God for the many who received the Gospel
literature and we pray God’s blessing on His Word.
We had a delightful visit to the school at Mostaska when over 70 pupils including
teachers stood and listened carefully as Gilles spoke on John 3 v 16.  We noticed in
particular one teacher, who recently had lost her husband, listened intently and after
the meeting had a brief spiritual conversation with Ruslan.
Much time in October was spent in preparation for the 8th annual assembly
conference on 26/27th October.  This year proved to be our largest conference with
visitors from 5 different countries and we were delighted to welcome a large bus load
of friends from Lutsk and also 2 mini buses from Ivano.  It was also a pleasure to
welcome 12 believers from 4 different assemblies in Slovakia and 1 assembly in the
Czech Republic.
On the Friday night 91 heard the Gospel clearly preached by Gilles Plourde (Canada)
and Marian Mozucha(Slovakia). Then on Saturday over 110 people attended the bible
reading and ministry of God’s Word.  Our brother Larry Perkins (evangelist USA) was
responsible for the reading on Philippians 2. The Lord drew near and gave help as
more than 10 other brethren contributed with questions and comments.
The ministry on Saturday afternoon was Christ centered and challenging.  Howard Pratt
(Canada) spoke on the “Nameless place” and took as his text John 1 v 38 “
Master where dwellest thou” and taught much concerning the importance of the
assembly.  Malcolm Stanley (Canada) followed with challenging thoughts on the
Potter, His hands, His wheel and the clay he worked with and how God works on us
to mold and make us more like His Lovely Son.  Brother Larry Perkins concluded
the conference considering Paul in Philippians 3 as he “rejoiced in Christ” and that
his attitude and activities had been changed by a personal relationship with the
Lord Jesus Christ.  He also highlighted the truth that Christ meant everything to Paul.
We thank you all again sincerely for your prayers and practical fellowship.
Yours in the Master’s service.
Edmund&Agnes

Rejoice evermore.  Pray without ceasing. 1 Thess 5 v 16,17.

Malcolm and Howard's final post for 2018

Final Blog 5.
Well Friday came and the Conference in Lviv begins in the evening. At about 1pm we began to get those who have asked to attend, in the vans. We have rented an 18 passenger van and are using our own van too. As usual, some are ready and waiting early and others come late. We packed the big van with more than 18 as some children sat 2 on a seat. Howard and I traveled in this van, Dan drove the other one. The weather was fine and the trip now takes just under 2 hours, whereas, before the roads were fixed it was more like 3 hours.

We all arrived at the rented Baptist church, which not only provides the venue for the meeting but dormitories for many of the guests. We started with a supper meal and then followed with a gospel meeting with Gilles Plourde and a brother from Slovakia preaching.

During and after the meeting other groups of  people came from Slovakia and Lusk assembly. We were greeted with a mass of hugs and handshakes, as we have met many of these folks for many years.

Edmund Johnston now had the awesome job of fitting everyone into the rooms in the church and in hotels around the church.
Morning started with breakfast at the church, followed by a prayer meeting and then a Bible reading on Philippians Chapter 2, lead bi Larry Perkins, a brother from Chicago USA. It went very well with several brethren taking good part.

A good lunch followed with many conversation at the tables. Great fellowship and a good experience for "first timers" from different places.

After lunch, the children were gathered together to sing, and what good singing. I must say that, many of our children had never been to such an event but behaved well, throughout the whole Conference.

Ministry followed, with Howard Pratt, myself and then Larry Perkins, with a good hymn in between each speaker.

This finished the conference except for supper and then some went home to Lutsk but a good number of us stayed for the Lord's day in Lviv.

We were really packed into the little hall for the breaking of bread, with quite a number of people looking on. The ministry was given by Daniel Mojzis (Moses) from Slovakia.
I spoke to the children and   after a lovely lunch, the load for Ivano left with some of the folks from Slovakia and Larry and Ruth Perkins, to spend some time with Dan in Ivano Frankivsk..

Howard and I stayed in Lviv and prepared to leave on Monday afternoon. Thankfully, all our flights were on time so no problem getting to Toronto. We both slept with friends and left on Tuesday for home. Howard driving the 600 km to his home and me flying to Winnipeg.

We considered it a profitable trip with many opportunities to preach and teach the word to many hundreds of people.
Thanks for remembering us in your prayers.

Malcolm and Howard.

Malcolm's long delayed post # 4

Long delayed report.due to poor internet connection.
Howard and I have certainly not had a holiday here having many meetings each week with ministry or a children's meeting in Lviv each Sunday and then returning to Ivano Frankivsk for a gospel meeting on Sunday evening. Numbers varied from 12 to 30 each time in Ivano.
It has been good to see many friends we have known here since our first visit to Ivano in 2003.
The weather has been lovely with temps in the upper teens C and no rain until yesterday.
One thing has been especially exciting has been the Wednesday and Thursday meetings in the apartment with generally, invited people who are showing an interest in spiritual things. It is an "around the table" event with either a subject we may suggest or one that may be a concern to them. They have been about 1 to 2 hours long with some lunch to follow. Some are saved others are seeking so a most interesting time.
One of my most exciting contacts to come, was the wife and daughter of a former interpreter and driver, who we feel may have gotten saved at some time. Dema, our young interpreter and brother in in the assembly, had his sister Tania visiting from Toronto where she is working now. She was visiting her mother Nadia, the lady many of you will remember as having to have new nose built after cancer, who we were able to help at that time. These contacts along with others are very special, we only hope that their professions of faith are genuine.
Dan and Dema have had a meeting for and with children from homes in an area, on Saturday mornings for several years. They meet for games in a workshop for handicapped children that has a multitude of pieces of equipment they can use. After the fun time there is a bible lesson and then a quiz and memory verse. The they take them all for a hot meal in a nice restaurant. Several of these children come to Llviv on Sunday to help swell the Sunday school there.
Each day we try to travel, either in the city or to other villages and towns to Schools and orphanages, to both take humanitarian clothing an many other items and to give them a gospel message, usually with both of us speaking. Many of the places have been visited in past visits and we are really welcomed by staff and children.
This all mounts up to a lot of preaching to a variety of audiences in a variety of venues.
we trust that all is to the Glory of God and not to self.
On a lighter side, even though the ground has been dry for weeks, we have mosquitoes in the apartment. No windows open, no outside door on this third floor, but one or two each night.
thankfully we found a body spray we use each night and it seems to work.

I hope to find how to put some of the many photos I have on the website or blog when I get home, so as to better show life in this country of Ukraine.
Next Friday begins the Conference in Lviv. We are taking about 30 people from Ivano Frankivsk and are hoping to see lives changed at this time.
Please pray for this event and our last days here.

Malcolm and Howard.
