Eric Fowler's final post #8

 April 29th
Breakfast as normal and read and pray for the day and the end of the mission for this trip.
We went to a photo shop to make some prints to give people. We called Ola , the one with big glasses, to come for some clothing.  She came and Deaf Ola with her and we allowed them to look at clothing.  (Last name is very hard so we but nick names on most especially when same name.)  Met with Dan and Dema and went to talk to Michiel a Baptist Preacher in town who had some questions.  He needed some help so spent some two hours with him on his questions.  He is a young man and has come to some meetings.
Igor went with me then to meet with a General of  the Army to give 23 bags  with Bibles, tracts and few other things in it.  We would have like to meet with soldiers but not able to right now.   We then took some grocries to Hila the Cat lady we call her.  We call her this for she has now one cat but did have 3 and it smelled like a cat house for sure. She was expecting us to come and say good by. We had bought her taps for the shower and
this allowed her to shower first time in some three months. Her stroke has left her crippled some; she lives alone.
We then went to see the only Jewish Rabbi in town.  We have seen him many times since 2005.  We have had some talks to him but he has no time for Jesus and has said so at times.   It is sad as he let us and was in a sad state. He was drinking and  talked some. I told him I just read to a old lady Ps. 23 and that it was King David's best psalm.   He then got the young man with him to get the Bible and he read it in Hebrew to us.  He then sang it for us. The Young man with him read it in Russian.  He said they  were waiting  for the Messiah to come and He would bring PEACE.
He told us there were only 170 Jews left in Ivano. in 2005 he told me there were 1200 left. He said many Jews are going home to Israel. He had told us before that before the war some 14000 used to live in Ivano. There is a mass grave site where 12000 were killed, near the city.
Heather and Margie was with us when we went to see him. We walked through the walling wall. The earliest city was an old Fort.   It was very nice inside and two sides still remain. Ukraine is a very old country for sure and lots of history.
Stary Liset is where Igor lives, we call it Luba's village as her mother in Law lives there.  We were to the school there one day. We have good access to the school at anytime.    We then went to Olex and Ola's home for supper. Had nice visit. I asked them about what kind of church would be formed in town according to their reading of the Bible.  Olex answered very well. We would like them take a better interest in the things of the LORD. Ira was to come for Heather for another Ukraine Language but broke down. Dan took her there and she came back late.
Day over and tried to be ready for speaking in Lviv and Ivano  tomorrow.  We plan, please God to rent van to take some to Lviv meeting again.

               April 30th
Last full day in the Ukraine.  Early rise for manna again and our short time of reading and preparing for the day.
A full van load for sure,19 of us came.   A nice ride to lviv, the ladies sang most of the way.  Marika also came she was in fellowship once and it was great to have her come along. She has been coming to meetings for the last  months.  It would be great to see her restored fully and back in the meeting.  Then another Maria came who has never seen breaking of bread before in Lviv or Lustk. The meeting went very good and the worship was truly heart touching. We had more in the back than in the meeting. I spoke at the end of the meeting on John 15.  We spoke on No fruit, need of Salvation, then fruit , More fruit, Much fruit in our lives.  Yaroslav had lesson for the children.   We had three children  from Ivano again and only one from Lviv.  The lunch went well and nice to    talk at the end.
The good by's isn't just easy. Ive learned to love the country and for sure the people and for sure the Saints. The ride back went well but cold weather last few days.   We had one extra going back so full load.  We were home for time for wee tea and then a wee rest and of to meeting.  we had 35 and that is great for holiday weekend and planting time. We went to Leanna's for Birthday supper after meeting.  The good by's at the meeting was quite hard, some cried as we were going. May God open hearts to live for God. Igor seemed very troubled but the lady interpreter never came to the meeting. She has made up her mind on what we preach. It is always sad to see people hear and turn away.
The day over now the last touch on packing.  Tomorrow will be long from the early rise to the late night in Toronto.

           May 1  ..
Early rise and the last touch to the weight to take.  We have some gifts given so will have to decide what to take and what not.
Breakfast of manna last here for a  while and a read and a prayer for the long long ride road and air.
Igor and Dema came to help and  took cases down.  Dan also came and they loaded the van. Leanna and her daughter, Dema and  Igor will go with us.  Nice ride to the airport and on time.  Edmond and Agnest came to say good by.  It was nice to see Andri came and have ice cream  and tea with us to.  The luggage was ok for Lviv and went through early and relaxed at the airport.  There was extra security coming into the terminal here in lviv and then saw army plane on the airport and then some 15 or so fighter jets on the airport too.  The flight was great and the wait at the airport in Warsaw was ok.   The flight overseas was good smooth ride all the way even over the Atlantic ...came in over very near Goose Bay.   The landing in Toronto was rough and the plan had a quick stop with the breaks making noise to say the least. Then a shocker at the airport as thousands in line.   A sad mess to say the least and many flights coming in late and many canceled flights. We were almost 3 hours getting through the airport but never the less, home safe. Mary picked us up and home to the apartment  to sleep .
It is truly great to see Gods hands move with you and for you and so many different ways in the past month.   THANKS FOR ALL YOUR PRAYER of the past days. Also for any who just sent wee notes of encouragement, it  meant so much when in the field labouring.   God bless all.
                 Eric and Margie Fowler
               and Heather Anderson .
