Report #4 from Eric Fowler. April 27th-29th. 2018

             April 27th. 2018....

We sure are feeling the week at work and the time change on us,  but manage tosleep ok.
Igor came early and made some calls with Dan.  Leanna came at 11 to help my wife and we read and prayed together before we left to deliver things to the City central hospital.
We went to the laundry to get clothing washed and then went to deliver a Wheelchair and walkers as well as some sheets and medicine.  The head nurse was very happy that we didn't forget her.
We went to the market and got pampers for a family and I got some food for the house here. We got address labels made so we could put labels on tracts that don't have contact address on them.
Leanna helped my wife with clothing and she also made dinner for us. Luba came and got clothing for herself, for her son and daughter and family and for her mother in law.  We all had dinner together.. We then went to the Children's center and spoke to 30 children.  We gave them a  candy bar and a little Bible we had printed. They were telling us that two boys from the place, two brothers are adopted from Canada. The family is to come next week for them.  We also took food to a  Lady near the Children center. She is a cripple lady and very very poor she didn't  have any food in the house so got some other food and Dan took it back to her.  I went to the bank and changed some money and spent some time on the street with tracts again.  Ira came and gave us our second Ukrainian lesson.  Margie and I went for a little walk. Day is over and they are going too fast ......

April 28th

Today in the Morning was more restful and slow with some down time ....My wife cleaned a little and ironed my shirts.  I read and prepared for ttwo meetings and the meeting this evening with the children.  My wife also got bags ready from the Box of children’s clothing we found for mothers at the Hospital.  We didn't get our normal bags that we got from the ladies in the Welland assembly.  The last 6 trips they gave us bags that they made and things already in them to give out to new Mothers for their babies. This spoiled us for sure ..but .they felt the need to help for Venezuela because of their crisis this year.  But God was good and sent a full Box of things so my wife could make our own bags.
We have encouraged Leanna to help Margie as no ladies  came with us this trip.   It’s always good to have female help, yet the Lord knows all the needs....
On our way to speak to the children I spent time on the street  giving out tracts.  This was my forth time in the street this week.. We had 18 children out and two parents.Dan played some games with them, taught them a verse from the Bible and  I had the lesson.  They love the verses and do very well on learning them.  Then all of us went to Pizza Hut for a burger, It went really well ...then Dan, Margie and I  went to Leanna's place for a supper.   Home then to prepare for tomorrow. tomorrow
The week is over and now another to start early  in the Morning for meeting in Lviv..

April 29

Morning came far to fast but then off for the drive to Lviv.  Dan picked up 11 children - a lot to take for a 2 hour drive to meeting.  But  It is a good exercise to have the young to listen to the word of God in their youth. All the men worshiped and it was a joy to see that.  I had a word on Ex. 25 and 35, the building of the Sanctuary and the willingness of the people to bring and build.  God's presence, power, person in the Place and it's link to God at work today and our responsibility to worship willingly and also work willingly.
Then the Sunday school  was taken by Ruslan.  The children were very nice and stayed very quite.
We all had a wee lunch and a wee time to talk. Then the ride back to Ivano Frankisk.
A little tea after arriving safe and ready for meeting  It was great to see 26 in with such  a beautiful day and itybeing a holiday and people are planting their gardens..
The Blind man was out again and he said I have good news for you I have trusted Jesus and it's a change in my life already..  One of his sons was with him as he needs help to walk everywhere.  He said I want to talk to you more during the week.
Dema's mom was out and she said the message was powerful and very encouraging. It was great to have another lady stay behind and say that the message stirred her up too t

We then went to Taras’ place for a supper..Taras is the son of Oleg who takes care of the clothing boxes..He is married and they just finished their new apartment.  A nice visit but they are very hard to speak the Gospel to.
The day is over and we are very tired to say the least but encouraged to see God at work.

Report #3 from Eric Fowler for April 24 to 26.

April 24 ...

Days are going fast as morning came too early.  Didn't sleep well as the time change is just catching up with me..
Igor came before we were ready to move. He had tea with us again and we read and prayed about the day ahead, giving thanks that God is at work in the world, in the nation and in our lives.
We called to see who we could get food for today.  We could not reach the ones on our mind so went to the market and picked things up for two families.  We dropped by to see if they were home, but there was no answer on the telephone at the blind man's home. His wife was home even though not answering the telephone, but no proof that they are not home.  They often don't have money to put time on their phone. We took her and her son to market once we could rouse her,and let her pick up some food.  She is a shy lady and didn't over do it in getting things. There were times I just told her to get certain things and she would smile. She was overjoyed that we had thought of her to get food as they have 5 children.
Then we went home and Margie had dinner made and waiting as we were 2 hours late.  We brought home a precooked chicken to go with what she had.  This was good and Margie will make chicken and rice soup for another day.
We then went to deliver the first food package to. Olia, an who worked as a nurse for over 35 years and lives in poverty.  Her daughter was there and we had a nice talk  to her ... she is troubled and would like to be sure of heaven she never misses meetings and her daughter and husband come with their family which is great.
We then went and got a hair cut and I like to do that for the relationship we have built with the ones there. They have never come to meeting, but always take tracts and love me coming.
Then came  home and prepared for meeting.  Yaroslav opened with hymns and Dema prayed. Then I had a word from the Epistle of Ephesians... on the riches of Grace, Mercy, Christ and Glory.
We had a nice number in again. A little more then Sunday 30.. It was a joy to see Leanna again and her three friends, also to see Dema's friend out again was a great encouragement.
Then we went to Marie's for supper, she now lives alone..her husband  died and her son is now married.  Then home to the apartment.  Dan arrived from America and Edmund and Agnes brought him down, and they brought 10 boxes of clothing.
Now the day is over and we are both very tired to say the least.  The van broke down just as we got to the drive way so had to put it outside. We will have pray no one will touch it..

April 25

We told Igor to come at 10:30 today since Dan just arrived so we’ll be able to have a little extra reading time as there will be a meeting again Thursday.  He came and also Leanna came to help Margie with boxes.
Igor and Dan went to work on the van.  I went with Leanna to get medicine for Olia, the elderly lady.
Margie is making soup for us all from the chicken we got yesterday.   Igor and Dan will go and try and get a charger to charge the battery as it ran down for some reason.  Dan took us to the young couple we bought food for yesterday.  They were away for some time during the day, and we didn't get to deliver it.
I came back and Dan and Igor were still looking for a battery charger.  Marina came and we ate soup, and Leanna made pancakes. We also had Canadian Maple syrup on them.
Igor and Dan found a charger and connected the battery to it. I took Margie and Leanna and went to he central Bank and paid for the electric and water bills for three families.  Leanna went home and Margie and I stayed on the street with tracts for over and hour.  We had a nice time and gave out some texts and New Testaments as well.  We came back and I rested for 1/2 hour and then went to Louisa and Yurie’s for supper.  They are the parents of Svetlana, who was one of our interpreters who got saved.
Her husband is home from Dubai and we had a nice visit.  Now we are home to read, write, and fully prepare for tomorrow's meeting.

April  26th
Again morning come toooo soon. Rest isn't coming easy for some reason. Going to sleep ok, but waking up early the time change cuts in and no sleep.
Igor came and we read and prayed together, for sure it would be good for him to repent and be saved.  He talks of it and knows God must do it.  He and Dan went and took the van to the garage and they changed the tires. It took almost all day ... back at 4 and all done.
Leanna came and we called to meet with some people, but again little results.
We worked at opening boxes and repacking for certain people in town we will visit.  We got through to Tanya, the Tanya with 3 children who's husband is sick and in ICU.  He has been there for some time and this is the second time this year.  He has trouble with his lungs.  We took her to grocery shop. Her oldest son was with her. It was while there that Maria, the wife of Blind man called and she came to get some clothing, shoes, and socks for the children and family. I gave her soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes.  Igor and Dan ate supper, and then Dema came and ate as well.  Then off to meeting at 6.   It was a great crowd again 28 An  RC nun has been in for two nights now, Dema's mom was in as well.
               In Christ,

Report for April 22 and 23 from Eric Fowler.

April 22
It was just great to rise after a good rest.  We got here Friday and to get a good night's rest is important.  Dema, Luba, and Igor came from Ivano Frankivsk by bus.  They got here a little early and come to the apartment.    They were very excited to see us ...to say the least.  Dema and Luba are in the meeting but Igor is not saved yet.
A warm Canadian tea and a wee talk before walking 10 min. to meeting.  The meeting was small - 7 missing from the meeting.  The meeting went very well even though small.  It's nice to know that the Lord is in the midst. I gave a wee word at the end on 1 Peter4:7 ..... with the emphasize on ... HE CARES .. and our Burdens and Battles we can put on the Lord.
There was no children’s meeting since there was only one child and she was very small.  Oksana was there from the village  ... she is the Russian lady who got saved and is doing well... She was at the children’s meeting on Saturday.
There was a small lunch and then off to Ivano Frankivsk for evening meeting.  It was great to be back to the City again.  There is extra construction going on since people from the War zone are running to the West and they are the ones with money and doing some extra building.  The meeting was good for summer - 25 there for a start.  Leanna came and we went with her and her daughter for a little lunch after meeting.

April 23

The morning came to Early and Igor came and had breakfast with us and Leanna came to help today and we read together.  Then Igor drove the van to pick up Lessa to go to a Private clinic and then to the Hospital.  I let Margie do this with Leanna and I went with Igor.    Igor took me to change money. Got a good exchange. I told Igor what I had asked the Lord to give us a good exchange rate. He said that we would not get it by the Posting of the Day but God answered and gave us a little more then I had asked.  He was truly touched.God is able.  We went and picked up some food for the apartment. We picked up the ladies and went to Yaroslav’s for dinner.  Yaroslav is in the meeting.. His daughter-in-law made dinner and it was very very nice. and we had a very nice visit and she talked more then ever before.
We came back home to the apartment.but DEMA came for tea and a time to talk. We had a time of sharing some thoughts on the Scriptures and had nice time of fellowship.  He left and Ira came and we started with Ukrainian language lessons.
Now our first full day in Ivano is over and we are both tired.  My wife is cleaning the place now that everyone is gone.
        In the Lord

Eric and Marge Fowler's first Report for 2018

  April 20th
We were flying all night and landed in Warsaw.  The flight went very very smoothly.  It probably was the smoothest flight we've ever had.  We landed safely in Warsaw and had a 3 hour wait.  The Flight to Lviv, Ukraine was great.
The temperature in Lviv and Warsaw was plus 18C.  The security in Toronto went well and the change over in Warsaw went just as smoothly.

Edmund and Agnes and Ruslan meet us at the airport.  The ride back to the apartment had lots of traffic as the president Peter Poroshenko was in town all day.  We didn't see him but saw the car at the Airport.  He was in town to open  a new section to the central Hospital.

We had a quick shower and off to Edmund's for supper we had fish that was.nice for sure.  Now it’s time to rest and try to sleep. Oh yes the grass is green and also the trees ...amazing.

      April 21st
We both slept very well and thank God for that as we were both tired.  Edmund and Agnes came to get us, as every second Saturday they go to..COCNIBKA .... ITS MEANING IS PINE VILLAGE.  We had 18 children and 11 adults out.  I spoke on Cain and Abel, how they are different and how they were the same.
Then went to Vera and Vaselle’s for dinner.  They have 6 children, also some of their relatives were there to visit too.
Then we took Oxana to her village.  Oxana is the Russian lady who got saved over a year ago.  We also delivered two children who came to the children’s meeting with her from another village. Then the ride back to Lviv, some of the road has been repaved so makes the ride shorter and more relaxing.
Now we are home to the apartment to rest and prepare for the two meetings tomorrow one at Lviv and the other in the evening at Ivano.

Thanks in the Lord's name ...

Edmund and Agnes Report on work in Lviv April 2018

LVIV NEWSLETTER – Edmund & Agnes              April 2018
“And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased” .......Mark 4 v 8
Dear Fellowbelievers
We are thankful that the Ukrainian winter is a distant memory of snow, ice and minus temperatures and spring has arrived with light breezes, sunshine and temperatures in excess of +20. Amazing to us that the locals never mention the weather and for us N Irish “blow ins” are always murmuring!!
So life marches on with joy in our hearts to be able to open, read and preach the Word of God daily.
We continue our regular visits to the different orphanages speaking to both young and old about their soul and their need of salvation. Recently at Lopatin orphanage nearly 100 gathered in the “zal” (large hall) including teachers and staff to sing, learn scriptures and we spoke on that great text  Jesus said “I am the door” using the door of the hall as an illustration.
At the latter part of 2017 it became apparent that we needed to change our ageing assembly minibus which we use every day for the Lord’s work.  Our search to find a suitable replacement was proving difficult. After much prayer and waiting on God at the end of January we went to Kiev to view two vans returning to Lviv 20 hours later with a “new to us” 2012 Ford Transit passenger van.  “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory by Christ Jesus”.
We continue to give God thanks for the tons of clothes, shoes and other helpful items that arrive in Lviv from assemblies in Canada and USA throughout the year.  The sisters in the assembly have the responsibility to sort and make ready for distribution firstly for believers and then for the Ukrainian people, orphanages, Carpathian mountains and personal contacts, gypsies and homeless shelter.
Please remember in prayer a recent visit to the village of Krossnae and Bealy Common.  First call was with V who lost his wife 3 years ago and he now lives alone. He is very “religious” but has an ear for the Gospel.  We hope that he will soon trust Christ and know for sure his sins are forgiven. Next call was L a lady in her 70’s a lovely Christian who suffers from asthma.  When we go we try to encourage her with reading the scriptures but always come away feeling richly blessed. Her husband died many years ago and her only son has left home.  Lydia lives in very poor conditions but is “rich towards God”.
We rejoice in the evidence of a changed life in the salvation of Daria a 26 year old young lady who was saved in February.  She has been attending all the meetings in the assembly since the beginning of 2017 when Rene Samson introduced her to the Gospel while on a visit to Lviv from Nova Scotia.  After he went home she continued to come and showed great interest in her soul and eternal destiny. She visited us many Lord’s day evenings for supper and always brought her Ukrainian bible to read and asked many questions.  God was working and the gracious “Holy Spirit” was striving with Daria and on the 10th February on a bus travelling to Germany she bowed at the cross of Calvary and acknowledged her sins and believed on the Lord Jesus Christ.  Please pray that she will grow and be built up on her most holy faith. We meet with her weekly for bible study and she also has requested helping at the orphanages when we visit.
